We suppose it was only a matter of time before it happened. Sci-fi extravaganza, Planet of the Apes, portended a world where apes had evolved to become the dominant species on the planet with humans relegated into slavery and/or sport. Of course, it took a wayward spaceship and a conveniently located time-altering wormhole to arrive in that apocalyptic world. Now it appears that apes (chimpanzees in particular) aren’t that far behind us in the evolutionary rat-race.
It’s fairly well known that apes make use of tools in their lives. Gorillas have been known to use sticks to gauge the depth of muddy rivers before crossing, use logs as bridges to cross smallish streams and even use tree stumps as postural support while dredging for food in swamps. Chimpanzees use stone tools to crush nuts and fruits, Read On! »

Let’s begin by stating we at the Womb think Al Sharpton is a douchebag. So he’s done some good deeds for the black community but lately, it seems as though he’s made it his personal quest to become savior to American blacks, a colored Jesus Christ if you will. But the Reverend’s douchebaggery isn’t in question for us, the issue at hand is racism in conversation.
In the first week of this year, Kelly Tilghman (Golf Channel anchor and former touring professional) and Nick Faldo (Golf channel lead analyst and golfing legend) were on television as usual for one of the channel’s PGA tour telecasts. They were discussing Tiger Woods’ sublime form and his tendency to rout the field. Faldo casually suggested an effective technique would be for other players to collectively play strategy against Tiger Read On! »

With the US firmly entrenched in the political process ahead of their general elections, it’s easy to get swept up in all the hyperbole and propaganda. The Clinton-Obama Race Wars, the McCain-Romney Bore Wars and so on. What we have noticed, however, is that a lot of people are simply fed up with the Bush administration and current state of everything (economy on the verge of recession, never-ending war on terror, paranoia everywhere, etc.). Indeed, several people we got in touch with mentioned that regardless of the candidates, they were going to vote Democrat so as to remove from office a power-hungry, elitist, misguided administration. Well, we think it pays to be discerning and that both major parties should be considered regardless of the current Republican track record. A little parable to illustrate, yes? Read On! »

Well … not sure where to start. You’d expect me to go straight into the Gunners, but after this weekend, I just don’t feel like it. So, let’s start with Man United’s absolute destruction of the Magpies. I know people were expecting a hight scoring game, but 6-0 is just taking the piss. The funny thing is I told a mate it wouldn’t surprise me if they won 6-0. So the Red Devils take first spot through goal difference. The good news was the ridiculous amount of points I got in Fantasy Football, what with Ronaldo as captain, Tevez and Ferdinand. Yuh! I can’t believe I just said that, fuck the Mancs. Sorry.
Chelsea, with their newly acquired striker Anelka, played Spurs in the other must watch game, with the Blues coming out winners, 2-0. Again, Spurs were Robinson-less. Oh deary Pauly, what are you going to do now? Liverpool weren’t so lucky with Boro Read On! »

Editor’s note: Original title – Jumping Through Hoops: A Criticism of Modern Woman.
I will begin at the place where the idea started, shivering to keep itself alive; wrapped in a newspaper like a thrift-shop gift. I was reading an article one day, not too long ago, the kind of sensible, instructional, “for-your-own-good” piece of printed charm. The content? Nothing other than the slightly insistent, slightly nagging, slightly droning voice of feminism, a voice that is so misunderstood (and, more tragically, so misnamed) by so many smirking, self-righteous women and men, that it is beginning to breed confusion rather than liberation. Just as the author, Wallace Immen, was stumbling through the tirelessly saturated topic of women in management, a punch-line quote cooked up by a certain consultant named Elaine Allison was suddenly presented on a fool’s gold platter of wisdom: “If women Read On! »

Honestly, how many jokes are there about semen being good for women? It’s moisturizing. It’s all protein and low in carbs. That’s all bollocks but researchers at Cornell University have confirmed that semen has short and long-term effects in women. Alright, so the preceding statement isn’t entirely factual. The research team actually found that the semen of male fruit flies has a significant effect on the female fruit fly after mating. To summarize, in the short-run the female fruit flies produce more eggs and in the long-run, they are less concerned about mating with other males. From the report:
The short-term response occurs during the first 24 h after mating, with the induction of elevated egg production and reduction in receptivity largely dependent on Acps (accessory gland proteins-editor) and not sperm. One Acp, ovulin Read On! »

Stupidity events are by no means a rare occurrence. It is, however, not often that the judicial system supports and rubber-stamps a stupidity event. Consider the case of 23 year old Canadian, Sandra Bergen, who successfully sued her drug dealer for selling product that put her in a coma. The product in question: crystal methamphetamine (angel dust*, shabu, blade, quartz, super ice or what have you).
Sandra Bergen of Saskatchewan successfully sued her drug dealer, Clinton Davey, for knowingly selling her a drug that was highly addictive and dangerous and with intent to injure. After dosing on her new purchase, Bergen promptly had a heart attack and spent 11 days in a coma (time that was clearly spent dreaming of ways to cash in on her misfortune). Apparently, addicts aren’t already familiar with the side-effects of drugs such as Read On! »
