Defining Blackability

blackabilthum.jpgEditor’s Note: Please welcome our newest author, Woland, to the BackWomb. A refreshingly opinionated thinker and budding writer, Woland can also lay claim to some stellar taste in music. A fitting start, then, as he opines about the state of race relations & “blackness” in his first article.

So I am driving through my city the other day. It was a beautiful autumn afternoon and I was enjoying listening to Smokey Robinson and the Miracles on the radio. I stop at the light when I hear the bass of some ridiculously loud stereo system booming up behind me. You know the kind so loud that you feel it in your chest and the entire car shakes. This vehicle pulls up alongside me and I allowed myself to break my usual rule of not paying attention to people who are crying out for it. The first thing I see is a huge purple Chevy Caprice Read On! »

Recurring Indian Penis Size Issue

penithum.jpgSome time ago (in THIS article) I commented on a BBC article that stated research proved the average condom was too large for the average Indian male. That was back in December 06. Courtesy of a BBC widget on their front page (that lets you see the top five most read articles each day), I’ve been keeping track of the popularity of this article. Over the last five months it has repeatedly been in the top 5. Today after a gap of about two months it has returned. Now what the bleeding hell does this say about the BBC’s readers? They’re either all Indians with a penis-complex, scores of Pakistanis looking for excuse to finally trump an Indian or the just the general public with a strange affliction for details about the desi male’s genitalia.

If the latter is true, I’ll volunteer to dispel the myth/put the issue to bed/get off. Read On! »

Sensational CNN Headlines

cnnthum.jpgCNN have some of the most outrageous headlines you can imagine. In addition to that I’ve noticed that their english skills are also descending to street-talk, well below even casual conversation. Consider the following I picked up from just ten minutes of watching:

Giuliani Disses Democrats: Since when is “disses” an acceptable term for a news channel. This isn’t BET damnit.

Warrior Prince (on Prince Harry’s possible deployment to Afghanistan): Yes Harry is in the British army. Yes he is a prince. He is not a warrior prince though, not in the slightest. Prince of Persia was a fucking warrior prince.

Headlines soon to be seen on CNN:
Iran’s Ahmadinejad: That bitch is whack!
Iraq now a fourth world country
Bush: America’s Super Nation Salvation

Indian Men Smaller Than Average…

eggpl.jpgJust found on the BBC website (HERE). Ummm, I’d like to make it a point that this isn’t the case. That said, this is no small matter, in fact, I consider this quite a meaty issue that should be refuted with a rigorous and stiff argument. Well, largely due to the fact I have other, better things to do, I’ll leave said argument for such time when I can engage in a lengthy discourse. Be sure to be prepared for my rebuttal as it will no doubt cover a broad swathe of scientific topics designed specifically to poke gaping holes in the BBC’s faulty logic. If that doesn’t work, I’m hoping the not-so-subtle subconscious messages do. Remember, there are 1 billion indians. I’m so virile I could impregnate you (man or woman) just by thinking about it.
Mediumly-sized, your editor.
