My preliminary research into the video seems to indicate that the young girl (17 years old) is an Iraqi from the Yazidi sect, a pre-Islamic Middle Eastern religion. Apparently she fell in love with a Sunni Muslim boy and for that her community stoned her to death. You’ll notice people are throwing cinder blocks at her and filming the incident on their cell-phones. Truly abhorrent behavior. And then I wonder why there are those in the West that want to turn the whole place into a glass crater. In India, we had an individual stand up and fight injustice, xenophobia and intolerance. His name was Gandhi. The Middle East is in sore need of their own Gandhi but I fear he will never come.

This video footage is crazy. It’s disgusting enough that in this day women still get stoned for something so trivial… but that people sat there filming it and taking photos of it…. it makes you wonder if we’re really evolving as human beings or just staying primitive cavemen type species.. You’re right though.. they need a Gandhi.. but i dont think they’ll allow for one… after all those in power dont want the violence to end.. its too lucrative.
Agreed. Far too lucrative for the rogue elements in Iraq right now to maintain the anarchy. Everytime I watch the video I get the chills, she’s so young. And she fell victim to the most natural thing in the world, falling in love with a guy…

These people saved her from a eternity of torture by teaching her the folly of her ways. The least she could do is beg for forgiveness! What she should really be doing is thanking them profusely.

Hmm, I wonder if they really sincerely believe that the girl would have roasted in the fiery pits of hell. If so, their reaction is understandable and naturally still abhorrent. I’ve always suspected people don’t really believe most of the bullshit in religion… I mean what thinking, rational person could believe all that crap… then again, that question is probably answered every day.
It’s like those witchhunts in Europe isn’t? The people really believed they were witches and demons and so drowning was salvation.
